BIOGRAPHY

Jen Howver

Jen has been a volunteer youth worker for more than ten years, and also spent a few years as a youth pastor's wife. She's a freelance writer, and coauthor of the September 2008 release, Secret Survivors written for teens. Jen lives in Colorado Springs with her husband, Jay, and their two daughters, Noelle and Chloe.

In this seminar youth workers will get a better understanding of some of the major struggles that today’s teens are dealing with (and hiding) and how to help. We’ll explore ways to help students open up about their secrets and begin the healing process. We’ll also walk through ways that youth workers can come alongside and be a trusted friend through the healing process. This seminar includes real-life stories that will show youth workers what helps students move toward healing and what hinders them from opening up about their secrets in the first place. Struggles addressed will include: Cutting, porn addiction, physical abuse, rape, drug and alcohol abuse, and more.
