BIOGRAPHY
Mark DeVries
Mark's the founder of Youth Ministry Architects, a coaching service for churches with youth ministries in transition or hope to see themselves move to the next level. For over 20 years, Mark has served as the associate pastor for Youth and Their Families at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville. He's the author of a number of books, including Family-Based Youth Ministry and recently he and his wife coauthored a book on the first year of marriage entitled, The Most Important Year in a Woman's Life/The Most Important Year in a Man's Life. He's a presenter both for Wayne Rice's "Understanding Your Teenager" and other Homeword parenting seminars. Mark lives in Nashville with his wife Susan.

Sometimes we beat ourselves up for not having the ideal spiritual life or not having a relationship with God that resembles someone else’s. Perhaps we just aren’t paying enough attention to the intricate interplay between our personality and our own spirituality. In this seminar we’ll consider issues related to temperament, wiring, and spirituality experimenting with a variety of ancient Christian contemplative practices to see which might help us grow closer in intimacy with the Risen Lord Jesus who is present and actively involved in our everyday wake-up, walk-around, work-a-day world.
