SCHEDULE FOR SACRAMENTO

Come Home: An Invitation to Rest in God
(Pre Convention Special Events)
Oct 9 1:00 PM-9:00 PM
Sacramento

We get lost in ministry. We get overwhelmed by the tasks, the worry, the relationships and lose touch with the God who called us. Meister Eckhart once wrote, "God's at home, we're the one's who go out wandering." This eight hour retreat is about returning home to the One who loves us. It's about remembering that before we are ministers, we are disciples, followers of Jesus, people in need of the love and mercy of God. Through prayer, silence, music conversation, and a variety of spiritual exercises we'll seek to encounter the One who is home, even in the midst of a lost and confused world. Spend eight hours exploring your relationship with God. Grapple honestly with the challenges of practicing the presence of God in the midst of current cultural realities Explore ways of incorporating, prayer, solitude and silence into your life and ministry.

The Dark Night of the Soul: When God is Absent
(Seminar Series #3 - Super Seminars)
Oct 11 2:00 PM-4:30 PM
Sacramento

Many of us experience dark and dry periods within our faith lives. Yet as ministers, we often feel we have to hide our own spiritual doubts and crises. Through testimony, exercises, and discussion, we’ll explore how Christians throughout the tradition have approached their own crises of faith and the opportunity that such a crisis presents in the midst of ministry.
